His experience and attention to detail are at the heart of Picasso Hardwoods, whether he’s bringing an older floor back to life, making difficult repairs blend into an existing floor, or installing beautiful new hardwoods from the ground up.

Outside of work, John is a father of three and is active in his community and his children’s schools. He also enjoys spending time outdoors—an appreciation for natural materials and the character of wood that carries over into his passion for hardwood flooring.

ABOUT JOHN

Patience

Beautiful hardwood floors can’t be rushed. New flooring needs time to acclimate to the home, moisture levels need to be right, and stains, sealers, and finishes need proper drying and curing time. Taking the time to do each step correctly helps prevent gaps, movement, uneven color, premature wear, and other problems that can show up long after the job is finished.

Precision

Hardwood flooring leaves very little room for shortcuts. Proper sanding, tight board placement, clean cuts, smooth transitions, consistent staining, and careful finishing all require attention to detail. Whether repairing an existing floor or installing a new one, precision at every step is what creates a finished floor that looks intentional, seamless, and professionally built.

Understanding

Every hardwood floor is different, and understanding what it needs is the foundation of a great result. Refinishing requires knowing how aggressively to sand, where repairs or filling are needed, when the wood should be conditioned, and how staining and sealing will affect the final appearance. With a new installation, it means properly acclimating the hardwood to the home’s moisture conditions, making sure the subfloor is sound and level, choosing and correctly installing the proper underlayment, and inspecting the flooring itself for quality before installation begins.
